Hello everyone,
I am thrilled to share an exciting update with you all. After years of dreaming and planning, I have finally opened my own tearoom, Chitose Ruri-An. This journey has been both challenging and rewarding, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the experiences that brought me here.
Returning to My Roots
In December 2021, I made a significant decision to return to Japan to pursue my dream of mastering the Japanese tea ceremony. This tradition has always held a special place in my heart, and I was determined to incorporate its beauty and precision into my tearoom.
Building the Dream
The journey to establish Chitose Ruri-An was filled with numerous milestones:
· Renovating the Tatami Room: One of the most transformative aspects was renovating an existing tatami room into a traditional tearoom. This process required the expertise of skilled craftsmen who understand the intricacies of traditional Japanese design. The tatami mats, sliding shoji doors, and carefully chosen décor all contribute to creating an authentic and serene atmosphere that honors the essence of the tea ceremony.
· Selecting the System Kitchen: Another major task was selecting the perfect system kitchen. I wanted a space that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing, reflecting the elegance of the Japanese tea ceremony.
· Renovating the Restroom Area with a Washstand: Next, I focused on selecting the perfect wallpaper, flooring, toilet system, and washstand to ensure that every aspect of the restroom provided a seamless and pleasant experience for my guests. This required meticulous planning and a keen eye for detail.
· Designing the Modern Courtyard: Finally, I designed a modern courtyard to complement the traditional tearoom. This space blends contemporary design elements with natural beauty, creating a serene and inviting environment. The courtyard serves as a beautiful extension of the tearoom, enhancing the overall ambiance and providing a tranquil escape for guests.
Looking Ahead
Opening Chitose Ruri-An has been a dream come true, and I am incredibly proud of what I have accomplished. I am excited to welcome guests and share the beauty of the Japanese tea ceremony with them.
Thank you to everyone, especially my father, who has supported me on this journey. Your encouragement and belief in my vision have been invaluable. I look forward to continuing this adventure and hope to see you at Chitose Ruri-An soon.
