Our Authentic Tea Ceremonies

The formal tea gatherings, Chaji, are intimate, private gatherings where a small number of invited guests are served a full-course tea ceremony which includes serving meal, thick tea, and thin tea. This unique gathering provides tea enthusiasts seeking a mindful, respectful, and authentic experience with a comprehensive journey into the heart of Japanese tea tradition.

We offer monthly experiential courses on Omotesenke tea ceremony, each with a different theme like history, famous tea masters, tea utensils, and matcha, explained with slides. You'll practice the guest's movements, including entering the tea room, and enjoy two servings of thin tea and dry sweets. Join us for an enriching intellectual experience.

A "Tsukigama" is a monthly themed tea ceremony open to all, regardless of prior tea ceremony experience. Chitose Rurian offers these intimate sessions, limited to four participants, with seasonal themes. Enjoy the essence of a tea gathering and unique encounters with other attendees. Join us as a guest and experience an authentic tea service.
